Value of travel

Today, I am going to talk about a journey to Salta in Argentina. I traveled on my own to Salta, which is located in the north of Argentina. The flight was long and exhausting. I arrived in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, in the morning. From there I flew 2 hours to arrive in Salta, la linda (Salta the pretty). Salta is a touristic city. Salta is famous for his culture, architecture, food, warm people and especially the landscape, according to my guide book. I definitely agree.

The people were amazing. They welcome me with open arms and invite me to their barbecues. They are the best barbecues. I learned so much. I learned Spanish during the time and learn to see how important community and family is. People value family over work, because as one person describe to me that work will go and come, but family will always be there. I understood the importance of this message. I think that traveling is not just about entertainment, but to grow as a person. I want you to think what you learn from your trips.

Few days ago, I stumble over a blog from woman called Katherine. She had problems in life. People tried to help her, but she refused. She tried to help herself and she traveled. She experienced so much. She changed as a person due to travel

Up in the sky

If your friend tells you that he wants to travel, most of the time you assume he will travel far away, like the Bahamas. We think to travel is expensive. However, to travel just means to move or go from one place to another.  Many people use different transportation such as a car, bus, train, plane, or ship. To take trip, but also walking is enough to travel. You can do a journey by just simply walking to the next county or city nearby. I did the same to save some money. I will tell you about my little trip.

Early in the morning, my friends and I walked with our backpacks to city close by. We stay in the city and explore it. We found a brochure of a place, where we could sky dive. I was freighting, because I am not the biggest fan of heights. My friends told me that it is save and everybody should do it. Due to the high social pressure and my urge to overcome my limits, I said that we should do it. We had to walk some miles to get there. It was long walk and the weather was hot. I did not like it at all. After some hours we made it to the place. We had to sign some paper work, which stated that we can die from sky diving and that I am aware of the risk. If someone reads that before sky diving, then you feel much more comfortable knowing it could be your last day. After some time, I met my experience instructor and he explain everything. We went in the plane and the plane seems to have turbulences. Afterwards, I found out that they do it on purpose to see the condition of the participants. My instructor open the door of the plane in midair. I can see the landscape and feel the air and then we both fall out of the plane.

It was amazing to feel the adrenaline, all the excitement and freight at the same time. We land safely on the ground and my friends were waiting for me on the ground. My friends and I shared our experience and feelings. Then we walk all the way back home. We had great time in just one day.

This was my journey to the sky close by.

Why blog?

One of the reason is that one of my professors motivated or pushed me to start a blog. I was thinking of doing a blog anyway, because I want to tell you what my thoughts or opinions are. I want to see, if you or others agree or disagree with me. Furthermore, I want to help people by telling them my story and they may save some dollars on the next trip. Also, I want to hear advices or thoughts from you or others. I want to connect with people, who wants to express themselves just like me. The most important reason for me is that blogging is fun. I had another blog, but I could not keep updating it, because I was extremely busy. Now I can blog again 🙂

What can you expect in my blog?

I will show you what I experience so far and what I took from every trip to different countries. I will show you pictures and describe you my experience of my trips.

Who am I?

My name is Yves and I am in my twenties. I love traveling. I travel to 20 countries in my life so far. I travel to England, Wales, France, Italy, Norway, Netherland, Denmark, Switzerland, Ireland, Malta, Morocco, Austria, United Arab Emirate (Dubai), United States, Congo, Burundi, Ruanda, Kenya, Ethopia, Mexico and Argentina. I hope I wil make the list even longer in my life time. My dream is to see every continent.

Why did I choose the title “Me in the big world”?

I chose it because it describes that I am not just in one country, but I am all over the world. However the world is huge and I feel that seeing the world is my purpose in life. I want to see the big picture before I have to leave. For this reason I chose the title “Me in the big world” 🙂
